On a slooooooow boat from Padang Bai to Lombok, Indonesia

I just pissed in a hole on a boat and I'm about to eat a pot noodle, or a 'Pop Mie', which i'm guessing translates as 'Pop Noodle', if you will. But you have to try these things don't you (particularly if there is no other option)?

I'm fairly sure i'm the only white person on this boat. The man in front of me is has brought his own lifejacket with him and is wearing it for the duration of the journey. Maybe he knows something i don't.

And so this is it, the real start to my Asian Adventures. Ok I've been here for two weeks already but i've done nothing alone and have been surrounded by westerners the whole time.

I'm excited, apprehensive and a little bit nervous. I imagine this will be nothing like travelling through Western countries and in turn there will be few Westerners around. Which is very apparent on this ferry.
